A truck driver narrowly escaped death after the vehicle he was driving caught fire and was completely destroyed while in motion at Wassa Akropong in the Western Region.

A video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows thick smoke billowing from the rear of the moving truck moments before it is engulfed in flames. As the blaze intensified, parts of the vehicle appeared to break apart while bystanders looked on helplessly.

According to the caption accompanying the footage, which was first shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user on June 30, the driver managed to exit the truck safely before the fire spread through the entire vehicle.

Despite the driver's narrow escape, the truck was completely consumed by the flames and reduced to a burnt wreck before any intervention could be made.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and no injuries have been reported.

As of the time of publication, neither the Ghana National Fire Service nor the Ghana Police Service has issued an official statement on the incident. Investigations are expected to determine the cause of the fire
